PURPOSE: To provide a support for raising/regenerating plant whose dimension after dried falls within a specific range, consisting of hydrogel particles with cross-linked structure, capable of promoting plant raising/regeneration, and also capable of easily recovering or making passage of a plant without damaging it.

CONSTITUTION: Acrylamide, N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide and ammonium persulfate are dissolved in distilled water, the resultant aqueous solution is added to a solution prepared by dissolving sorbitan monooleate, etc., in hexane to effect suspension. N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine is then added to the resultant suspension followed by polymerization at room temperature for 4 hr, thus obtaining the objective support consisting of hydrogel particles with cross-linked structure 0.1μ-1cm in the dimension after dried and having the above-mentioned advantages.
