To provide a supporting member which can be machined and formed at low costs without decreasing a face accuracy or positioning accuracy therefor while the resonance of the supporting member of a laser beam scanner is suppressed, and which can be manufactured easily and highly accurately, and an imaging apparatus with the supporting member which can obtain image outputs of a high image quality with a high accuracy by using the supporting member.

In the imaging apparatus with a supporting stay 2 for fixedly supporting the laser beam scanner 1 to an imaging apparatus body, and a photoreceptor for recording images by receiving a light flux scanned by the laser beam scanner 1, the supporting stay 2 has a flat plate-like supporting substrate 10 for supporting the laser beam scanner 1, tongue-shaped parts (fixing parts) 4, 5, 6 and 7 set at ends of the supporting substrate 10 and fixed to the imaging apparatus body, and ribs 8 and 9 set while coupled to different ends from those of the fixing parts of the supporting substrate.
