To provide a surface acoustic wave filter having broadband pass characteristics in which the thickness of a filter is about 8%λ, and the ripple in the passband and the reflection characteristics can be improved, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.

In the longitudinal coupling resonator surface acoustic wave filter, the electrode in the first stage surface acoustic wave filter on the input side, and the electrode in the second stage surface acoustic wave filter on the output side are formed so as to have a thickness of about 8%λ. While monitoring so that the electrode has a thickness for canceling ripples, the first stage electrode film is planed thus making the second stage electrode film thinner than the first stage film. A manufacturing method therefor is also provided.
