PURPOSE: To obtain a band-shaped surface light emitting element which is easily usable for a quadratic surface as well, not merely to cost effectively produce a surface light emitting element having a thickness of, for example, about 5mm by arranging plural pieces of light guides in a surface form.
CONSTITUTION: This surface light emitting element 4 is composed by arraying plural pieces of the wire shaped light emitting elements 1 in parallel and sealing the one surface with a translucent resin 2 and the other surface with a resin 3 coated with aluminum or white color having high reflectivity. The entire part of the plane body 4 is made to emit light by the light guided from a light source device 5. At this time, the planar surface light emitting element is obtd. if the surface light emitting element is hermetically sealed with a material having high hardness as the blank material of the translucent resin 2 and the resin 3 having the high reflectivity. Not only the plane light emitting element is obtd. but the curved surface light emitting element is obtd. as well if the light emitting element is hermetically sealed by using resins having resilience as the resins 2, 3. Further, the light emitting element is rollable and is fittable to a curved surface as well in such a case.
