The surface mounting type solid electrolytic capacitor includes a positive electrode body 11 of valve action metal, with its end part 14 being connected to a positive electrode terminal 20 which is a metal plate through a positive electrode conductive member 19 and a conductive bond 23. Here, the cross section of the positive electrode terminal 20 includes a shape of L, and a rising portion of the positive electrode terminal 20 is arranged on the side close to the negative electrode terminal 21 while a flat part is arranged on the side away from the negative electrode terminal 21. Thus, the conductive bond 23 is prevented from laterally spreading to the negative electrode terminal 21 side, requiring no limitation on the amount of use of the conductive bond. Then, the connection resistance of the solid electrolytic capacitor is reduced.
