PURPOSE: To easily and uniformly polish the surface of a work even when the outer shape of the work is complicate by irregularly arranging permanent magnets on a rotary table so that the magnetic force may be exerted in the outer circumferential direction or outward/inward in the radial direction of the rotary table.
CONSTITUTION: A motor 2 is vertically fixed in a housing 1, a rotary table 4 made of the non-magnetic material is fixed to a shaft 3 of the motor 2, and disc-shaped permanent magnets 5 are fixed on the turn table 4 with the magnetic pole upside. The magnets 5 with approximate same number of N and S are irregularly arranged by keeping small space therebetween and fixed so as not to be brought into contact with each other. When the turn table 4 is rotated at about 1000-4000rpm, the alternating magnetic field is generated by the permanent magnets 5 to irregularly flow the media within a cylindrical container 11. Thus, the work moves around in the total media in the container, allowing easy and uniform polishing of the work even when the work is complicate in shape.
