The objective surface treatment method for the ornament comprises a step of forming a first underlayer 41, on at least one part of the surface of a substrate 2, a step of forming a second underlayer 42, and a step of forming a third underlayer 43, and a step of forming a coating layer 3, which is mainly composed of Au and a material including at least one additional element selected from among Ir, Ru, or Pt, by a dry plating method, on at least one part of the surface of the third underlayer 43. The content of the additional element in the film layer 3 is preferably 0.1-5 wt.%.
