To provide a suspension characteristic control device for a vehicle provided with a suspension mechanism control means for automatically changing a suspension characteristic so as to attach importance to riding comfortableness over maneuvering stability during automatic traveling and stabilize a vehicle attitude when an occupant moves.
This device is provided with a non-linear H∞ control device 30 for changing damping force of a shock absorber 20 so as to give a preference to riding comfortableness over maneuvering stability when an automatic traveling vehicle is decided to be during the automatic traveling. The device is provided with a seat sensor 20. When moving of the occupant within the vehicle is detected by the seat sensor 20, the non-linear H∞ control device 30 changes the suspension characteristic so as to stabilize the attitude of the vehicle.
