The switch device of the present invention comprises an operation handle 21, which is swingably installed on the front panel 14 of the playing tool and normally biased toward its basic position by a return spring 25, a reflection plate 26, which is provided on the end of the operation handle positioned inside the front panel 14, a light emission section 31 to emit light toward the reflection plate 26 and a light receiving section 32 to receive light reflected from the reflection plate 26. When the operation handle 21 is on the basic position, reflected light enters the light receiving section 32, but when the handle 21 is in a swing position, the reflection plate 26, the light emission section 31 and the light receiving section 32 are relatively arranged on the positions where reflected light does not enter the light receiving section 32, and an on/off state is selected according to the light receiving condition of the light receiving section 32.
