PURPOSE: To turn on an automatic program searching device only when both a play and fast-forwad button are operated according to the relative position relation of an operating plate, by providing the operating plate with an operating piece for operating switches.

CONSTITUTION: Once an operation lever 2 for reproduction is pressed, a head base plate 5 is also operated, so an operating shaft 8 provided to the head base plate 5 is moved as shown by an arrow B similarly to the operating piece 4a formed on rewinding operation lever 4. In this state, only operating plates 13 and 15 are moved to left andan operating plate 14 is not moved. Therefore, the on- off switch 20 for the automatic program searching device fitted to the operating plate 14 is pressed by the operating piece 15c provided to the operating plate 15, so that the switch 20 in an off state is turned on.
