Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply device provided with an arithmetic circuit capable of generating a control signal for showing a load electric power with small circuit scale together with less power consumption at low cost.SOLUTION: There is provided an arithmetic circuit 12 by which a load electric power is calculated to generate a control signal Io for controlling an ON period and an OFF period of a switching transistor. The arithmetic circuit 12 comprises a squaring circuit 15 for generating a squared signal Isq proportional to square of the ON period of the switching transistor MN1, a period counter 16 for generating a periodic signal It proportional to a period Tsw corresponding to the period from this OFF starting point to a next OFF starting point of the switching transistor MN1, and a division circuit 17 for dividing the squared signal Isq generated with the squaring circuit 15 by the periodic signal It generated with the period counter 16 to generate the control signal Io that indicates the load electric power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
