Title:
SWITCHING SYSTEM FOR NETWORK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05233505
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a full node switch making it possible to mutually connect functional elements including plural processors or digital systems by assigning different priorities to each function and allowing each function to transmit through the same and physically one network path.

CONSTITUTION: A 4×4 cross bar switching system 10 is provided functions provided with mutually exclusive relation and connecting optional one of four input ports 1 to 4 to optional one of four unused output ports 1 to 4 by priority. Namely the switching system 10 is capable of simultaneously supporting four connection at most at the point of given time such as connecting the input port 1 to the output port 3, the input port 2 to the output port 4, the input port 3 to the output port 2 and the input port 4 to the output port 1. Then the switching system 10 supports bi-directional communication between four nodes 20, 22, 24 and 26 and gives completely the same function to each input port 1 to 4 to connect it to an optional unused output port 1 to 4.
