Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a synchronizing ring for a transmission made of a Cu base alloy excellent in initial fitness.
CONSTITUTION: This synchronizing ring is composed of a Cu ally having a compsn. contg., by weight, 20 to 40% Zn, 2 to 8% Al, 0.2 to 2% Si, 0.1 to 6% Co and 0.05 to 0.5% Ti and/or Zr, furthermore contg., at need, 0.1 to 5% Mn, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities, and in which, on the required place in the face to be contacted with the mating member, a work hardening layer is formed by the average layer thickness of 10 to 300μm.
