Title:
SYNTHETIC RESIN MIRROR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04199101
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a mirror excellent in heat resistance and low water absorptivity by using a synthetic resin comprising specified amt. of methyl methacrylate and N-substd. maleimide as the base body of the mirror and forming a reflecting film on one side of the mirror base body by vapor deposition. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin comprising 50 - 95wt.% methyl methacrylate and 5 - 50wt.% N-substd. maleimide is used as the base body 1 of the mirror. This mirror base body 1 is coated with crosslinking hardened film 2 and one side of the mirror base body 1 is provided with a reflecting film 3 by vapor deposition. Further a protective coating film 4 is formed on the reflecting film 3. The obtd. synthetic resin mirror has excellent heat resistance and low water absorptivity without damaging the methacrylate resin. Even when the mirror absorbs water, the mirror has little warpage and little distortion. Thereby, the mirror can be used in a wide range of conditions.
