To provide a system for controlling an electric vehicle capable of improving energy efficiency as a vehicle system when electric power is consumed at the start of a power generator.

The system for controlling the electric vehicle includes: a power generator 113; a drive device 114; a power storage device 108; an operation control device 115 for controlling operations of the electrically connected three devices 108, 113, 114. The operation control device 115 drives a power generation motor 102 by consuming electric power from an electric power supply source when a start request of the power generator 113 is generated, and performs power generation mode transition control for shifting to a power generation state. A power generation mode transition means acquires an internal resistance value of the power storage device 108 by estimation or measurement, selects a supply pattern which needs small energy consumption between a drive device supply pattern for setting an electric power supply source necessary for the start of the power generator 113 to the drive device 114 and a power storage device supply pattern for setting an electric power supply source necessary for the start of the power generator 113 to the power storage device 108 based on the acquired internal resistance value of the power storage device 108.
