Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve high resolution scanning at a high speed in an LED-array image printer by controlling a print head to compose an exposure scan data transmitted to an LED-array by a specified method. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal 14 is provided in order to input composing information and a raster image processor RIP} 18 receives the composing information and formats the information into the raster image pattern of data before being transmitted to an image printer control unit 20. Furthermore, the RIP generates and transmits the page profile of a document to be printed. The image printer control unit controls a scanning LED array 26 and motor controllers 22, 24 coupled with a motor to determine an optimal scanning arrangement and harmonizes the operation of LED with the position of a print head thus achieving a high resolution print.
