To provide a system and a device of vehicle sensing for traffic-actuated control which highly precisely detect the presence of a vehicle necessary for accurate traffic-actuated control, and generate a high precision traffic-actuated control signal enabling a signal controller to perform traffic-actuated control at appropriate timing.
The system includes an imaging means for periodically acquiring image data including an area near by a stop line; a data processing means for detecting the vehicle on the basis of the image data; and an output means for outputting a traffic-actuated signal in response to the detection of the vehicle. The processing means infers a vehicle type of the vehicle by measuring a vehicle width of the vehicle in the night, estimates a presence area of the vehicle corresponding to the estimated type of the vehicle, and detects the vehicle.
