PURPOSE: To enable the insertion of an absorbing body at a specified position in a vagina smoothly eliminating a friction resistance of the absorbing body with the wall of the vagina while allowing the removing of a housing cylinder smoothly.

CONSTITUTION: In a tampon 1 for housing an absorbing body 2 into a housing cylinder 6, the housing cylinder 6 comprises a flexible cylindrical sheet part 61 and a rigid cylindrical part 62 provided successively to the flexible cylindrical sheet part 61 and a first takeoff device 63 and a second takeoff device 64 are connected to the tip part of the flexible cylindrical sheet part 61 separately while being formed longer than the housing cylinder 6. The first takeoff device 63 and the second takeoff device 64 have a coupling point 65 at which they are connected together partly while the length thereof is different from each other to the connection of the tip part from the coupling point 65.
