Title:
TAPE CUTTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3915075
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cutter capable of attaching a sharp blade having excellent cutting sharpness so far as safety of a hand finger at a blade tip is ensured and operating a guard mechanism for it in the interlocking relationship with vertical movement of a fastening part to enable its use in a comfortable manner.
SOLUTION: A tape fastening part capable of sliding vertically and separately from the blade and a plate-like blade tip guard moving vertically together with it are provided in the front of the blade, and a pair of arm-like blade tip guards are provided on its both sides to open and close in the interlocking relationship with vertical movement of the fastening part. Consequently, since safety of a hand finger at the blade tip is ensured and a guard arm is automatically opened and closed, this tape cutter can be used by substantially the same operation as operation of a conventional ordinary tape cutter. A magnet is used to maintain a condition in which the guard arm is opened and the fastening part and its holder are inclined when pulled onto a reel side. As a result, a mechanism can operate smoothly and securely.
