PURPOSE: To obtain a compact tape cutter with only one portion serving as a cutting part by providing on a passage of a taping belt a cut groove to which an axial line is perpendicular and a carrier or a cover tape is fitted, and providing a cylindrical dice having a rotary blade slidable in the axial direction and a tape sucking means in the groove.
CONSTITUTION: A carrier tape traveling with electronic parts received and a cutter for cutting respective terminal ends of a cover tape for it are placed on a passage of a taping belt 30. A U-shaped cut groove into which a carrier tape C or the cover tape B is fitted is provided, a cylindrical dice whose axial line is perpendicular to the passage and a rotary blade 2 which is provided slidably in the axial direction in its hollow part wherein the cross section is semicircular are provided. A pair of sucking means are provided above them for sucking the cover tape B, wherein the means are vertically movable. Locking means 4,5 are provided for pushing the carrier tape C and the cover tape B as a single unit to a guide on their upstream and dawnstream.
