PURPOSE: To smoothly perform a tape feeding action by providing a guide member guiding a tape to the component extracting position and a sprocket fitted rotatably so that only projections entering the feed holes of the tape to feed the tape are protruded from the upper face of the guide member.

CONSTITUTION: The upper face section 32A of a chute 32 guiding a tape 17 to the component extracting position is set higher than root sections 27A of projections of a sprocket 24, only projections 27 are protruded on the upper face section 32A, the lower face of the tape 17 is closely stuck to the chute 32, and tip sections of projections 27 completely enter feed holes 17E. A swing arm 28 is pulled by a driving means against the energizing force of a spring 19, the feed teeth 25 of a ratchet gear 26 are pushed by a ratchet claw 31 via a link 29 and a swing plate 30 to rotate the sprocket 24 at the preset pitch, then the tape 17 is smoothly fed by projections 27 of the sprocket 24 entering the feed holes 17E of the tape 17 as the sprocket 24 is rotated.
