A CPU 62 moves a cutter unit 8 in a cutting direction (ST32:NO) by driving a motor 74 for cutting to normally rotate until detecting a detecting piece 117 of a cutter holder 102 via a connectedly cutting position sensor 119 in the case of the connectedly cutting where the part of an extended part 3G of a release paper 3E is connected (ST17:YES). While the CPU 62 moves the cutter unit 8 in the cutting direction (ST41, ST42:NO) by driving the motor 74 for cutting to normally rotate until detecting the detecting piece 117 of the cutter holder 102 via a whole width position sensor 120 in the case of judging to cut an undefined length roll sheet 3A over its whole length (ST15:YES) or in the case a cut button 7C is pushed down (ST3:YES).
