Abstract:
To provide a target recognition device, vehicle control device equipped with a target recognition device, and target recognition method capable of appropriately actuating sensors when a target in the periphery of an own vehicle is to be recognized by using multiple sensors with different detection ranges together.SOLUTION: A vehicle system includes: a first sensor for detecting a target existing in a first detection range (S1) in the periphery of an own vehicle; and a second sensor for detecting a target existing in a second detection range (S2) different from the first detection range in the periphery of an own vehicle, and supports traveling of an own vehicle on the basis of target detection results by the first sensor and the second sensor. A device to be applied to the system includes: a position recognition unit (12) for recognizing a position of a detection target being a target detected by the first sensor as a target position; a detection determination unit (13) for determining whether a detection target is to be detected by the second sensor on the basis of a target position; and an actuation control unit (14) for controlling a target detection operation by the second sensor on the basis of a determination result of the detection determination unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
