PURPOSE: To obtain a telephone set which gives an opportunity for disconnection of the telephone.

CONSTITUTION: A receiver 3, a speaker 5, a switch 7, a tone synthesizing part 8 which synthesizes the same tone as the ringing tone of a doorphone, and a microcomputer 9 which drives and controls the tone synthesizing part 8 to generate the same tone as the ringing tone of the doorphone 4 from the speaker 5 by the turning-on signal from the switch 7 are provided. When a telephone call comes from an outside line telephone set, the receiver 3 connected to a telephone line network control circuit 2 is used to have conversations. If an opportunity for disconnection of the telephone is necessary at this time, the switch 7 to indicate emission of the ringing tone of the doorphone is depressed, and the tone synthesizing part 8 is driven and controlled by the turning-on signal from the switch 7 to emit the same tone as the ringing tone of the doorphone from the speaker 5, and the same tone as the ringing tone of the doorphone is emitted from the speaker 5 from which voice is produced at the time of on-hook.
