To provide a telescopic mechanism for a support, which reliably adjusts the height position of a top board, etc., to be a desired position by an operation to elevate/lower the top board, etc.
When the support 2 is extended, a mobile pin 20 arranged in an inner cylinder 4 is forcibly introduced to a pin lock part 15U arranged in an outer cylinder 3, so as to be locked. Thus, the mobile pin 20 is prevented from passing through the position of the pin lock part 15U without being fitted to the pin lock part. Besides, an operation is performed, which moves the inner cylinder 4 in the extending direction from a state where the mobile pin 20 is locked to the pin lock part 15U, thereby to release the lock state of the mobile pin 20 by the pin lock part 15U. Then, the mobile pin 20 is forcibly introduced to a retaining part 23 and retained inside a linear part 14. Consequently, the inner cylinder 4 is prevented from being brought into a lowering possible state without being recognized by an operator.
