PURPOSE: To attain simple video recording reservation by discriminating automatically whether or not a television program list is stored and setting a data to display it on a screen.
CONSTITUTION: A video recording reservation command by a user is inputted from a video recording reservation command section 7 and a program list data management section 8 of a video recording reservation setting section 9 retrieves a storage content of a program list data storage section 6 by this input. When a television program list of a channel selected is stored in the program list data storage section 6 while the user gives a video recording reservation command, a data representing it and to be displayed on a screen is set to a display control section 10 and when not stored, a data representing it and to be displayed on a screen is set to the display control section 10 to implement succeeding video recording reservation command by a user. Furthermore, the display control section 10 converts the set data into a data displayed on the screen actually (RGB data) and outputs the resulting data. Thus, simple video recording reservation is implemented without giving confusion to the user.
