PURPOSE: To provide a terminal equipment which can considerably shorten time when communication becomes impossible due to the abnormality of an adapter (time when job is interrupted) on the terminal equipment connected with a line through the communication adapter.

CONSTITUTION: An adapter abnormality detection means 12 detecting the abnormality of the communication adapter 10, an adapter information extraction means 14 extracting information where the state of the communication adapter 10 is shown, a terminal information extraction means 16 extracting information where the state of its own terminal is shown when the abnormality of the communication adapter 10 is detected, an extracted information preservation means 20 writing extracted information into a non-volatile storage medium 18 and an adapter restarting means 22 restarting the communication adapter 10 when extracted information is written are provided.
