Title:
TERMINAL STRUCTURE FOR LOOSE OPTICAL FIBER CABLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3599647
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal structure for a loose optical fiber cable capable of reducing the transmission loss of a coated optical fiber under a high water pressure and preventing ingress of water into a tube housing the optical fiber loosely.
SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber 1 is exposed from the tube 2. A high- tensile body 5 having a symmetry axis along the longitudinal direction of the coated optical fiber 1 exposed from the tube 2 is disposed so that the coated optical fiber 1 becomes a symmetry axis and the body 5 abuts on the end of the tube 2. The end of the tube 2, the exposed coated optical fiber 1, and the high-tensile body 5 are covered with a thermoplastic resin 3 and a thermally shrinking tube 4, and then the end of the tube 2, the coated optical fiber 1, the high-tensile body 5, the thermoplastic resin 3, and the thermally shrinking tube 4 are integrated into one body by heating.
