To provide a terminal user monitoring system that keeps the accuracy of user matching from deteriorating with changes in the user's hairstyle or face over time which is used for matching.
A face image data updating means D is provided which updates and stores the current extracted face image data in a face image data storage means J only if determination by a face image data comparison means B results in a rough match, so that the newest face image data of the user is updated and stored in the face image data storage means J at all times. When a determination is made as to whether or not the user being logged in can be authenticated, the face image data extracted at that time is compared with the newest face image data stored in the face image data storage means J so as to increase the accuracy of authenticating the user, while reducing identification errors due to changes in the user's hairstyle or face across the ages.
