Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a tester for an internal combustion engine, which can operate without an elevator.
CONSTITUTION: An oscillating pallet 19 for supporting an internal combustion engine 5 is provided on a support pallet 18, and a retracting unit 36 for retracting the pallet 18 is provided on an internal combustion engine support base 7. The unit 36 is operated in a state that the engine 5 is set on the pallet 19, and the pallet 18 is refracted to a predetermined position on the base 7 together with the pallet 19 and the engine 5. Then, the engine 5 is started to transmit vibration of the engine to the pallet 19, and the pallet 19 is oscillated in response to the vibration. Since the vibration of the engine 5 is not controlled by the pallet 19, the vibration test of the engine 5 can be executed actually under conditions near the state the engine 5 is placed on a vehicle body. Further, the structure and cost of an internal combustion engine tester 3 can be simplified and reduced.
