PURPOSE: To uniformize the shape of print dots, by providing a heat-collecting layer consisting of a metallic film on heat generating elements, with an insulating layer therebetween.

CONSTITUTION: An insulating protective film 18 formed of a glass or the like is provided as an insulating layer on a heat generating resistor 17, and a heat- collecting layer 19... is provided thereon at parts corresponding to heat generating elements 17a.... The heat-collecting layer 19... consists of a metallic film. With a signal applied to a specified lead electrode 16 on the driver side, the lead electrode 16 and lead electrodes 15, 15 on the common electrode side which are located adjacently to the lead electrode 16 are made to conduct through the heat generating resistor 17, and the heat generating element 17a generates heat. The heat is collected by the heat-collecting layer 19. The heat thus collected by the layer 19 brings a corresponding part of a thermal recording paper into a thermal reaction, whereby a print dot is formed on the paper.
