PURPOSE: To obtain other two unknown thermal physical constants from one known thermal physical properties constant using one measurement principle when one out of three thermal physical properties constants, namely volume specific heat, thermal conductivity, and thermal coefficient of expansion, is known.
CONSTITUTION: A process for applying an excitation light which is intensity- modulated to a specimen intermittently and then measuring the amplitude of thermal expansion vibration which is generated on the surface of the specimen at that time is repeated at least for three times using an excitation light with a different modulation frequency. The relationship between three sets or more obtained modulation frequency and thermal expansion amplitude is substituted for one equation with the volume specific heat, thermal conductivity, and thermal coefficient of expansion as unknown values, thus obtaining other two thermal physical properties constants from one known thermal physical constant.
