Title:
THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2716907
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance resolving power and high speed followability by coating the surface of a hot-melt ink layer consisting of an isocyanate polymer of lanolin fatty acid/polyhydric alcohol ester having a predetermined melt viscosity, a predetermined amount of an ethylene/vinyl acetate resin and a predetermined amount of a color forming component with a coating layer containing an additive with a predetermined particle size and having a predetermined viscosity.
CONSTITUTION: Thermal transfer ink is formed of an isocyanate polymer of lanoline fatty acid/polyhydric alcohol ester having melt viscosity of 3000-50000cSt at 100°C, a color forming component such as carbon black and an ethylene/vinyl acetate resin contained in a binder excepting a color forming component in an amount of 15-60wt.% and a hot-melt ink layer is formed on a base material through a carnauba wax layer. The surface of the ink layer is coated with a coating layer containing 0.1-5 pts.wt. of an org. or inorg. additive with a particle size of 15μm or less, for example, carbon black.
