Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer sheet capable of forming a high density image even after a long shelf life or even if a low energy is supplied.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer sheet consists of a dye layer composed of dye and binder formed on a base film. The binder is made of a polymer which is soluble in an organic solvent obtained by esterifying and/or converting a hydroxyl group in the molecule of natural and/or semi-synthetic water soluble polymers to urethane. In addition, the dye is present in such a state that it is dissolved in the binder.
