Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which is nonsticky and has improved chemical resistance by mixing a thermoplastic styrene elastomer with finely divided cork. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic elastomer composition of excellent surface properties is produced by mixing 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic styrene elastomer (desirably a hydrogenated vinylaromatic compound/conjugated diene compound block copolymer) with 1-75 pts.wt. finely divided cork of a mean particle diameter <=20 mesh. A conventional thermoplastic styrene elastomer is disadvantageous in that it has peculiar stickiness and is lacking in chemical resistance. By mixing the finely divided cork in this way, a thermoplastic elastomer composition remarkably decreased in stickiness and improved in chemical resistance can be obtained.
