Abstract:
To provide a thin blade grinding wheel of a long service life.
A grinding wheel main body 2 roughly in a thin and flat circular form is formed by dispersing super-abrasive grains of diamond or cBN or the like to be disposed in a metallic bond phase 3 comprising nickel or a nickel-base alloy. In the grinding wheel main body 2, aluminum is diffused to a cutting action area C acting for cutting a workpiece. In the grinding wheel main body 2, the solid solution or compound of diffused aluminum and nickel or a nickel- base alloy forming the metallic bond phase 3, especially Ni3Al, is formed in an area where aluminum is diffused.
