Abstract:

PURPOSE:To obtain a thin-wall molding improved in mechanical strengths by molding an aromatic polyester having an acid component based on naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and a glycol component based on 1,4-butanediol to form a product of a specified shape. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyester having an acid component based on naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, desirably 2,6naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, and a glycol component based on 1, 4-butenediol and desirably containing at least 90 mol%, based on the total amount of the repeating units, butylene tere- phthalate is optionally mixed with a filler, a flame retardant, a stabilizer, a colorant, etc., and the mixture is molded desirably by injection molding to obtain the title molding having a thin-wall part of a thickness of 2 mm or below.
