Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread cutting mechanism for a sewing machine which is used in a zigzag sewing machine.SOLUTION: A thread cutting mechanism for a sewing machine includes a sewing machine platform 11. The thread cutting mechanism for a sewing machine includes a drive assembly 2 and a thread cutting assembly 3. The drive assembly 2 includes: a step motor 21; a swing bar 22 movably connected to the step motor 21; and a push bar 23 which is connected to the step motor 21 and the swing bar 22, and is driven by the step motor 21 to move in a reciprocating manner. The thread cutting assembly 3 is mounted on the sewing machine platform 11. The thread cutting assembly 3 includes: a thread hook cutter 31 which is connected to a swing part 222 and is linked with the swing part 222 to move in a reciprocating manner and hook back a sewing thread 4, and which includes a thread hook route R; and a thread cutter 32 which is mounted on the thread hook route R and cuts the sewing thread 4 when the thread hook cutter 31 hooks back the sewing thread 4.
