Title:
THYRISTOR TYPE CONDENSER SWITCHING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59110335
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
In order to avoid damaging resonance effects when switching mains- supplied inductors (3) in series with capacitors (4) for triggering thyristor switches (5) at random points in time, the voltage on the capacitors and thyristor switches is detected, in terms of its magnitude and polarity and in the event of a specific deviation of the respective capacitor voltage from a constant maximum value, a short- term triggering of the thyristor switch is effected, in order to raise the capacitor voltage to the maximum value by means of a short-term resonance current (ic), so that its maximum value is always ensured before the actual switching-on of the capacitors.
