Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop color by the photoreduction of iron by a method in which a surface layer containing photocatalyst particles is formed on the surface of a member and is brought into contact with water containing iron ion.
SOLUTION: The photoreduction capacity of a surface layer which indicates a hydrophilic property is controlled by the irradiation of ultraviolet rays etc. To express practically by the change in color difference (ΔE), when a member is immersed in water containing 2ppm of iron ion, and the surface layer is irradiated with light having energy higher than the band gap energy of photocatalyst particles in conditions in which photon density per unit time is 1×1015/sec.cm2, and accumulated photon density is 8×1019/cm2, ΔE<1.
