PURPOSE: To contract circuit constitution and to reduce reproduction cost by easily and surely executing a time base collector function and various specific effect processing such as vertical/horizontal inversion, contracted display and expanded display by means of the same memory.

CONSTITUTION: A time base collector has a VRAM 4. The VRAM 4 is provided with a RAM part 4a (4b) and a SAM part 4c (4d) and constituted so as to transfer data for one horizontal line from the RAM part 4a (4b) to the SAM part 4c (4d) in each horizontal line in a reference synchronizing signal synchronously with the writing timing of the input side during the horizontal blanking period of the output side and output data for one horizontal line from the SAM part 4c (4d) based upon a reading clock signal during the horizontal scanning period of the output side.
