To provide a time correlation method in a frequency domain and its system.
Time domain data on a measurement signal and on a reference signal are converted into frequency domain data. Then, the measurement signal and the reference signal are together multiplied, and product data produced as a result are converted into delay domain data. During this correlation process, the frequency of signals such as the reference signal is changed. The frequency of the reference signal is adjusted by a prescribed number of times to examine a correlated signal produced as a result. A frequency is selected producing the strongest correlation. As an alternative, the frequency of the reference signal is adjusted until the correlation value of the correlated signal agrees with or exceeds a threshold. A frequency is selected that first produces a correlation value agreeing with or exceeding the threshold. The frequency of the signal can be adjusted by the amount of an integer and of a fraction.
