Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the time during which a transmitter is brought into free-running state and suppress power consumption when switching an operation system and a standby system, with regard to the system switching system of a redundant constitution of the transmitter configuring a time synchronous network.SOLUTION: In a time synchronous network, a packet transmitter (downstream) 20 includes a function capable of extracting time information, configuration information and operation information from a PTP message and storing the information thus extracted. When switching from an operation system 21a to a standby system 21b, these pieces of information are delivered from the operation system 21a to the standby system 21b thus omitting a sequence required after system switching, shortening the time when the packet transmitter (downstream) 20 is in free-running state, and minimizing degradation in time synchronization accuracy. Furthermore, power consumption is suppressed by bringing the majority of the function of the standby system 21b into sleep state during normal operation.
