Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a timing variable type valve driving mechanism of four-cycle engine, in which the timing of switching of a valve can be changed in response to the engine speed. CONSTITUTION:In a timing variable type valve driving mechanism, a main cam 15A to be operated at the time of low speed and high speed and an auxiliary cam 15B to be operated only at the time of any one of low speed and high speed are provided. At the time of high speed, the operation range of the auxiliary cam 15B is overlapped with the operation range of the main cam 15A, and they are synthesized to prolong the valve open time. Forced mechanical operation is eliminated from the operation for switching the valve timing to perform the smooth operation without a shock.
