PURPOSE: To provide a tire vulcanizing press, in which the height of a mold can simply be varied and adjusted rapidly by engaging the screw section of a pressure transmission rod at elevating and lowering positions and the screw section of a locknut in an opening-closing-free manner.
CONSTITUTION: A screw section 12a is formed to a pressure transmission rod 12 inserted into the hollow section 9a of a hollow pressure cylinder 9 fixed to an upper frame 1a, and a locknut 11, which has a screw section engaged with the screw section 12a and is freely opened and closed, is mounted to the piston section 10 of the hollow pressure cylinder 9. Position transducers 20, 21 measuring the quantity of a clearance between the screw section of the locknut 11 and the screw section 12a of the pressure transmission rod 12 are installed, and a controller 22 transmitting an elevation-lowering command over the hollow pressure cylinder 9 in order to bring the quantity of the clearance to a proper value is mounted, thus simply altering and adjusting the height of a mold quickly.
