PURPOSE: To maintain the quality of a modified product, to avoid the investment of a heat exchanger system and to efficiently treat a product resulting from catalytic reforming by treating the product resulting from the catalytic reforming reaction of a hydrocarbon charge under a specific condition.
CONSTITUTION: The separation of a product P resulting from the catalytic reforming reaction of a hydrocarbon charge into a gaseous phase R rich in hydrogen and an effluent E is performed in a separator 1 and a part of the gaseous phase R obtained by separation is recycled to reforming reaction and the other part of the gaseous phase R is compressed to pressure of 10 bar or more by using a compressor 3. Subsequently, the effluent E and the compressed gaseous phase are again brought into contact with each other under a condition capable of obtaining hydrogen enriched gas and modified substance enriched liquid phase to obtain hydrogen with a purity of 99% or more and residual gas GR and this residual gas GR is purified and a part of the purified residual gas is recycled to the gaseous phase subjected to compression under almost constant pressure and the other part of the non-recycled residual gas GR is discarded and the product resulting from catalytic reforming is treated.
