Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of the reproducibility of a high-frequency component of a specific color by converting red, green, and blue color data into luminance and color difference data based on plural conversion formulae. CONSTITUTION:A converting means 5 which converts red, green, and blue color data into luminance and color difference data based on one of converting formulae designated by converting formula designating data and a memory 7 in which the luminance and color difference data converted by the means 5 or the compressed data of the data are written are provided. Moreover, a reversely converting means 10 which reads out the data in the memory 7 and converts the data into the original red, green, and blue color data and a displaying means 10 which makes displays based on the reproduced red, green, and blue color data are also provided. Since the red, green, and blue color data can be converted into luminance and color difference data based on the plural conversion formulae, the most suitable conversion formula can be selected on each picture to be displayed and the picture quality can be improved.
