Abstract:
In an anti-skid device for motor vehicles, chain sections (4) are hurled into the area of the road-contacting surface of the tyre by a rotating holder (3). In order to rotate the holder (3), a driving unit (3) presses the holder (3) against the flank of the corresponding tyre (2). A compressed gas source (12) in the form of commercially available, exchangeable compressed gas cartridges (13) arranged in the driver's cabin (1) of the vehicle is used to drive the driving unit (6).
