Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an inspecting method enabling quick and reliable detection of a defect occurring in a welded part of a lug part of a grid body and a strap of a lead storage battery or a welded part of the strap and a connector thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic wave is applied to a welded part of a lug part 1 of a grid body and a strap 2 of a lead storage battery or a welded part of the strap 2 and a connector 3 thereof, at an angle of 30° to 70° to a direction vertical to the strap. Thereby a defect 4 occurring in a direction horizontal or vertical to the strap 2 can be detected reliably by scanning at one time, and the defect occurring in every direction in the welded part can be detected reliably in a short time.
