Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a recording material excellent in long-term dispersion stability of pigment and desirable for use in writing utensils such as a ball-point pen and a sign pen by adding a powdery carbon pigment such as carbon black surface-treated with a fluorine gas to a recording material such as an ink.

CONSTITUTION: The material contains a carbon powder surface-treated with a fluorine gas. It is prepared by mixing a carbon powder surface-treated with a fluorine gas with an untreated carbon powder, a solvent and a resin. The temperature in the surface treatment with a fluorine gas is about -80 to 150°C, and a temperature region of 50°C or below is desirable. The treatment time is usually about 0.5min to 1hr.
